Description

Some days ago I was lucky to image a little solar flare in H alpha (although seeing was not optimal). The flare occured around a filament at 8:30 UT on April 6, 2020.

According to GOES X-ray flux measurements it peaked at roughly 1.9e-7 W m-2 (0.1-0.8nm), what makes it "almost" a B2 flare.

The animation consists of 14 images taken every 10 mintues between 6:40 and 9:00 UT. Each image was obtained from a series of 1000 frames, the best 100-300 frames stacked with AutoStakkert, sharpened with Registax, aligned with imppg and combined into a coloured gif with Gimp.

The apparent image rotation stems from tracking with an alt-az mount.
