Description

UGC 3697 is a galaxy in Camelopardalis constellation, called also “The Integral Sign Galaxy” due to its inusual shape.
This edge-on super thin galaxy galaxy has magnitude 12.9 and dimension 3’x0.2’; it is located approximately 151 million light- years away.
Its warping is probably the result of interaction with the dwarf galaxy UGC 3714, the bright round galaxy on the bottom right of UGC 3697.
Several other faint and far galaxies are anyway visible in the background.
