My current project was a 4 panel mosaic from IC1394. My double setup with the SkyWatcher 150 / 750PDS + ASI2600 and the SV503 + ASI1600 was used again.
So I was able to collect a lot of photons in 4 nights. The H-alpha channel was created on the SkyWatcher, and O-III and S-II on the SV503. However, the processing was extremely time-consuming.
I noticed relatively late that I had used a wrong BIAS for calibration on the ASI1600. This was clearly too bright and cut off a lot of the signal during calibration. When I noticed the issue, I was horrified to discover that I had accidentally deleted the uncalibrated lights from the "bottom right" panel
So I had to somehow process a totally noisy panel. Good thing is that there was a very large overlap due to the smaller focal length, So I only had to take care of about 1/5 of the panel. In the "top right" panel there was a similar problem, but due to technical problems with the SV503 only 5x5min subs was captured
The next problem was that due to a small rotation between the panels and too small overlap on the H-alpha channel, a small triangle of data was missing ...
Here I used the combined data from S-II and O-III to fill the "gap".
I have aligned the panels with the help of the Star Catalog Generator Script.
The creation of the H-alpha mosaic was the simplest task.
In the end, I made the mosaic of O-III and S-II with Photoshop, because none of the variants in PixInsight produced clean transitions.
