Description

NGC 7635, also known as the "Bubble Nebula," is an emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia, discovered by William Herschel in November 1787. It got its name from its distinctive soap bubble-like shape. The nebula was formed by its central star, SAO 20575, whose intense stellar wind pushes away surrounding gas, creating a cocoon-like formation. The nebula also features dense pillars of hydrogen and sulfur, illuminated by the strong ultraviolet radiation of the central star. This causes varying gas temperatures to emit different and beautiful colors.
