Description

Here's NGC891, an edge-on unbarred spiral galaxy about 30 million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda. It looks as the Milky Way would look like when seen sideways, and in fact both galaxies are considered very similar in terms of luminosity and size.

This image was obtained by stacking 20x300s subs. Not really happy with the results...the image has a very annoying red tinge, perhaps resulting from the long exposure that causes the red channel to be overflown compared to green and blue...
