Description

This image shows some of the colorful stars of the southern constellation of Vela, and also a part of the Vela supernova remnant, a expanding debris cloud that was formed by the explosion of a massive star that happened 11000 years ago. At the moment of the explosion, the core of the star collapsed, forming a pulsar, while the outermost layers were ejected into the interstellar medium, producing the filaments that can be seen in this image.

This image was made adding the information captured from my backyard, using a H-Alpha Narrowband filter, to the data captured using the Red, Green and Blue Filters, from a dark site. My goal was to enhance the detail in the filaments, and also capture the colors of the stars that are present in the image.

Unfortunately, i am having some tracking issues with my mount, so i probably will need help from the local experts, to disassemble and clean my mount. I hope to capture this image again, once i solve this issues, to compare the results.
