Description

A Try at the Witch Head Nebula under Poor Seeing – First DSO of 2021

One should not start out stating what is wrong with an image and I almost didn’t post this one. Seeing was Poor if not Bad but I spent three hours outside in freezing temperatures at an attempt at this dim DSO, it was my first since it rises first (besides M45) in my field of view. I have spend more hours at post processing trying to get this image out and this is the best I could do. This was shot at 150 mm focal length, 90 mm aperture, f/5.6, using the Sigma 150-600 mm telephoto lens, on the modified Canon T71. I shot 40 Lights at 1 minute each plus Darks, Flats, and Dark Flats. Post processed with Deep Sky Stacker, Star Tools 1.6, Photoshop 2021, and Lightroom.

Please keep the laughter to a minimum.
