Description

Since it only wants to be clear when the moon is out, I guess I will image the moon. This is a 20-frame, 36-megapixel mosaic taken with a home-built 7.5" f/20 Dall-Kirkham. Each frame is the best 50 stacked out of 100. I would normally do more frames, but had not tried a mosaic before and decided to go easy in case I botched the framing, plus I was using my guide camera which is only USB2 and putts along at 7 fps. The seeing was average, which from my backyard is great! I stacked the frames in AutoStakkert 2, aligned and merged them in Microsoft ICE, then sharpened with wavelets in Registax, with final touch ups in Photoshop.
