Description

This is a test of using a lower end planetary camera for globular cluster imaging. The test shows that a low end camera can also be used to detect faint and relatively small DSO (NGC1261 magnitude 8.4, size 6.9x6.9'). Smaller sensor size virtually dispenses need for flats as long dust particles are blown off the glass sensor shield. This ZWO model along with entry level 120MC gives pretty impressive results, however a planetary camera is not a complete replacement of a dedicated deep sky camera. Imaging camera gain was set at 35% (APT scales max gain to 100). Stacked image was down sampled to 50% using Startools binning option to speed up Gimp. Target was chosen owing to relatively fewer of its images posted here.
