Description

This object is an open star cluster located 5000 light years away in the constellation of Cassiopeia at a declination of +60 degrees. This magnitude 6.5 cluster of 35 stars spans 11 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 16 light years.

The cluster is highlighted by a triangle of 8th magnitude stars at the center of the image. The bright blue 6th magnitude star in the lower left of the image is not part of the cluster, nor are the beautiful orange stars towards the top of the image.
