Supernova Remnant CTB 1 Listed on Stellarium as Abell 85 or SNR G116.9 + 00.1 Some confusion (on my part) finding information because Abell 85 is also listed as a Galaxy Cluster. - This object is a very faint circumpolar object 34' wide (which is an excellent size for my 620 mm focal length.) It is about 10,100 light years away and has a Neutron star as a remnant. It looked like a good choice for a challenge of the light gathering ability of my scope. Tried some experimental (for me) processing methods with Starnet and Pixelmath which probably resulted in some overprocessing issues. A good subject to add more data later and experiment to refine processing procedures.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
