Description

For this image of NGC 891 I have used the data we obtained with the TEC160FL back in 2017 combined with the data obtained by AFIL-1 and 2.
The image is LRGB, despite having Alpha Hydrogen shots available I have not used them, since the result seemed very good to me.

Since the framing of the image in each of the systems varies, I had to do a lot of cropping, but I was delighted with the result.
NGC 891 is a spiral galaxy located in the constellation Andromeda, it is one of the best examples of an edge-on spiral galaxy that can be seen with amateur telescopes.

It is also considered one of the most similar galaxies to our Milky Way, the great resemblance it presents to the Milky Way seen from the Southern Hemisphere is striking, also aspects such as a similar luminosity and size, around 32 million light years separate it from the Milky Way2.

Image processed in Pixinsight.
Data acquired for our team, by Jim  Powell, from the Deep Sky West robotic observatory, in 2017.
Lijiang, China (Gemini Observatory) in 2022.
Kunming, China (Yunling Observatory) in 2022
