Description

NGC6888 (Crescent Nebula) - Almost 1 hour of Ha data (58 minutes).

Celestron RASA 11 with 2 inches Baader f/2 High speed Filter (H-alpha). Baader filter slider.

10 Micron GM1000 HPS

ASI 183 MM Pro

only 500 sec x 7 (Ha) (unguided)

NGC 6888 is my first light with my RASA 11. My previous equipment was a Takahashi TSA120. It took me time to get the correct back focus at 72,8 mm, but once done focusing is easier. All 500 sec subs are unguided (autoguiding is not necessary at 620 mm focal length with this high end mount). I made some tests and I can image up to 30 minutes at 620 FL and stars are still round. This picture of the Crescent Nebula is just a crop to show how round are the stars. What a very fast photon collector ! Stacking with Deep Sky Stacker, very basic processing with Pixinsight (Histogram Transformation only, that's it). Bortle 5 sky in light polluted Belgium (not a problem with the Ha filter).
