Description

The Sun in H-alpha on March 5, 2022 featured a great prom near the north pole.  This animation was made from 23 subs captured at 1 minute intervals over 30 minutes (had to drop a few bad subs).  This is my first successful solar animation after a few trials.  My first attempts were made using my alt-az solarquest mount and I was not able to get them to properly align using IMPPG.  I switched to the AVX equitorial mount and IMPPG had no trouble aligning those.

Imaged with a Lunt LS50Tha (with feathertouch focuser and ZWO EAF), Lunt LS50C compact double stack filter, 2.5x Televue Powermate, ZWO ASI290MM. Imaging train was configured to give ~F/18. Image capture using Firecapture. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 25% of 1000 frames).  Processed in Registax6 (sharpening).  Subs aligned using IMPPG.  Animated GIF generated using gifmaker.me.
