Description

First night with new Meade 6000 series 70mm APO quadruplet, which arrived earlier the same day.

I eyeballed this FOV (cropped), the third target of the evening I shot with the new APO, shooting more for stars than nebulae due to the light pollution in my backyard. I was aiming to get 2 of the 3 Messier clusters in Auriga in the 350mm + full frame FOV. Then I noticed IC 417 showing up and realized IC 410 nearby could fit in the FOV too if I adjusted the scope and camera again, but decided to leave that composition to pursue another night.

The light pollution in my small city is pretty bad but the moon was below the horizon in the west early so it was about as dark as it gets here.
