Description

Traveled away from home to the mountains of North Carolina to our vacation home. I know that during this time of year, it's next to impossible to get polar aligned because of the heavy foliage/trees and the weather for the week was forecast for only a couple of nights of clear skies. It would be a disappointment to waste clear nights at a Bortle 4 location (home is B8). So, I decided to go bare bones while on vacation and just packed up a guidescope and guidecam with a photo tripod. No guiding with just 2 sec exposures. I love the fun of a challenge.
