Description

I shot the Owl Nebula a while back with a DSLR and wanted to try it again with my mono CCD. This was taken over about a 2 week period when I was experimenting leaving my equipment out under some Telegizmo covers. The scope was on a concrete pool deck so it would not shift night to night, and it is not warm enough in the day yet to heat the concrete up to cause different problems. I have both the tripod and scope 365 covers for a nice complete package.

This allowed me to focus more on imaging rather than set up and tear down. I was amazed at how well the system took 10 minute subs, which gave me much more signal to work with and made processing easier.

I think that capturing the outer ring of the Owl in Bortle 8 is a real achievement for me. Its faint, but it is there!

I hope you like it!
