Description

I've been working on the Pinwheel Galaxy (m101) this past week.

The Pinwheel galaxy is 21 million light years away from Earth near the Big Dipper constellation . It's a spiral galaxy that we can see from the "top" so we can make out it's spiral arms. It's about 70% bigger than than our Milky Way and has twice our number of stars. It's not a perfect spiral because of interactions with other nearby galaxies pulling on it with their gravity.

I've collected almost 3 hours of exposure time to get this far. Might have clear skies tonight and may try to collect some more time on this galaxy so I may be jumping the gun on posting this today but I wanted to share it
