Description

This area of dust and gas in Cepheus is full of interesting objects. The entire area is illuminated by a massive star HD 206267 (not in frame). The area is now thought to be a star-forming region, as a number of young stars have been found there.

To me, the pillars of dust and gas look much more sinister than an elephant's trunk. Reminds me of the WB Yeats poem with the lines "And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?"
