Description

This is an animation of the "total" solar eclipse of 2020-12-14. "Total" in quotes since it was partial at my location, as you can see.

Mouse-over to see the unstretched version. Check out the static crop as well.

The image was produced with the best 20% of 2250 frames of 405 microseconds at gain 0, full ROI. Frames were taken as a series of 1fps videos instead of 2000fps videos, as the Raspberry Pi 4 used to capture this can't handle 2000fps of raw video. But also that way allowed me to make the animation.

Clearly, 405 microseconds was too much, as the center of the sun saturated and I didn't notice until it was too late to do anything about it.

Description: Lower resolution, cropped version of the animation. I noticed some browsers can't handle the high-resolution version, so I'm setting this reduced one as default to avoid DOSing people. If your browser can handle it, do check version B.
