Description

I think LDN looks like an ancient rune of some kind. It is, though, a molecular cloud at a distance of about 600-700 light years. Within it, you can see one Herbig-Haro-object (HH 36) and another (in this image very small) reflection nebula, GN 19.18.0, which is probably a dust cloud blasted apart by the star winds of a young star.
