Description

NGC2595 is a spiral galaxy located in constellation cancer. I chose this field not only due to irregular nature of NGC2595, but because it is filled with little background galaxies. The most interesting probably being PGC23700.

NGC2595 is rougly 190MLy away from our galaxy with a diameter of 195.000Ly. I included a detailed image from the drizzled source file I worked with and applied HDRMultiscaletransform to reveal more of the inner core. In fact a ring-like structure can be seen towards the central core of the spiral.

The PGC23700 is much farther away with 350MLy. According to my calculations this yields a diameter of 102.000Ly. Unfortunately, not much more information is available on this object.
