Description

Data from telescope.live. Processed in PixInsight.

This was very difficult to process - the data was good (other than around 8 Ha subs that were really BAD and I threw them out). Combining the channels resulted in a very heavily Yellowed image. Took me a few goes to get it colour balanced how I wanted. I think part of the problem was my DBE on each of the individual channels probably had data points that were on nebulosity. Anyway, after DBE, PixelMath (straight SHO), autocoor script, SCNR and then invert + SCNR and finally colorcalibration tool, I got the colours how I wanted.

I ended up using HDRMultiscale too on the main part of the nebula to bring out more detail (took like 40 minutes on my poor laptop LOL! but the results were worth it imho).

Used a synthetic L channel with deconvolution too to tighten the stars, but had to be a bit careful with dark and bright ringing and play with the settings until I was happy.

PP in Photoshop CS6 (very subtle levels, curves, hue/sat), nothing fancy. Resize to JPG.

Took me around 3 hours to complete this image.
