Vixen 80M Solar A collection by Ed Astle

The Vixen 80M is my test bed for my "home made" solar quests.
It has the "Super Polaris" label but came without the tripod (2nd hand).

Nothing scary here - just off the shelf filters and stuff.
It's a proving ground before I promote them to my 6" Skywatcher for "higher-res".

This will be a warts and all nothing left on the cutting room floor saga.
Unless they're really bad. That happens more often than you think.

The Vixen has a £1000+ energy rejection filter on the front and that is still not enough.
It has an Edmund Optics 0.5nm Ha filter which cost £1300 and that is still not enough.
It has Lunt 40mm tilt etalons at the rear (£1000 each) and that is still not enough.

I'm surprised I can see the Sun at all through my tears.
