Bok Globules A collection by Gary Imm

Bok globules, first observed by astronomer Bart Bok in the 1940s, are small dark nebulae. Star formation is believed to be ongoing within these cold and dense nebulae. A typical Bok globule contains about 10 solar masses of material in a region about one light-year across.
