My interest in the night sky started as a teenager. I purchased a Golden Series Skyguide in 1982 and used binoculars and naked eye to learn the constellations from my semi rural home in Southern California. When I joined the Navy I took that same field guide with me and was in awe of the night sky while at sea. Almost thirty years later, I purchased my first telescope (8” Dob) during the pandemic and then put a DSLR on a 60mm refractor and was hooked on astrophotography. I retired in 2022 after a career in Land Use and now have more time to dedicate to this fantastic hobby.
