About

I am now retired after working as a Medical Physicist for 40 years. I have enjoyed these last few years at this hobby but I am unable to continue any night work. I hope those to see my images enjoy them. Farewell and Clear Skies to all.

Imaging with a cheap CCD camera on an Alt/Az Scope A collection by Van H. McComas

Here within you will find the results of my attempt to produce images using and Celestron NexStar 80 GT telescope and an Orion Star Shoot CCD camera. This is phase one of a project to see if I can get images (crappy or otherwise) from the gear I have (I didn't pick this gear, it was a gift) before I buy real gear ($$$$). If I can't see a positive result in alignment, tracking, and imaging, I am not going to waste my time and money and I will stick with Wide Angle Astrophotgraphy. Try to enjoy these images and feedback, positive or negative , is welcome.
