My interest in the night sky started with my grandfather. He showed me different constellations and stars.
I started astronomy at the age of 17 and created a Newtonian scope by polishing 2 pyrex glass, created a Foucault knife to calibrate the parabolic curvature of the mirror. The mirror was aluminized professionally and the scope was assembled using a round cardboard tube. The short of it, the mirror was great using a double star distance to calculate the mirror precision.
After my studies at Ecole polytechnique and my Msc at McGill university, I moved to Western Canada where I am employed as a geologist. In 2018, I decided to try Astrophotography and I started my journey with an Atik OSC and Alt-Az mount SCT. All of my images have been taken in a city at bortle 8-9. More recently, I moved to the Foothills and now called the observatory ‘Paintbrush’ after the red Alberta Flower.
I studied the Earth my entire life, now, I study the sky...
Keep looking up, it is good for the sole.
