My interest in the night sky started with my grandfather. He showed me different constellations and stars.

I started astronomy at the age of 17 and created a Newtonian scope by polishing 2 pyrex glass, created a Foucault knife to calibrate the parabolic curvature of the mirror. The mirror was aluminized professionally and the scope was assembled using a round cardboard tube. The short of it, the mirror was great using a double star distance to calculate the mirror precision.
