I have been passionate about astronomy since I was a young boy. I first met Patrick Moore in 1970 after my family moved from Littlehampton to Chichester when I cycled to Selsey to see the great man. From then on my interest was fully cemented and I joined the South Down Astronomical Society and the BAA in the early 70's. There, my hero and mentor John Mason helped to further increase my knowledge and enthusiasm. After obtaining a degree in Physics with Electronics at QMC London in 1981, I became a Field Geophysicist working in Africa, then working on Robotics, then Medical Electronics before setting up on my own as a Software Consultant and Contractor. I am happily married to Sue and have two wonderful children Tom and Katie from my first marriage.
