I'm back to amateur astronomy after a 30+ year break!

My first telescope was a Sears refractor...a reflector after that....then off to college.

I returned to the hobby 1.5 years ago, with the purchase of a used ETX-125EC off of Craigslist. The original owner couldn't figure it out....no prob. for me, and after a while, the mount died, like most of them do.

A few months later, I picked up my current telescope, and absolute A++ Meade LX200 Classic 10" f6.3, on a Meade field tripod, and a treasure trove of eyepieces, power supply, inverter, books...you name it. The original owner passed away, his son inherited it, and after a year of trying to sell it...I ended up with it.

I added a Meade Super Wedge (needed TONS of tweaking), barlow, focal reducer, Meade DSI2 Color (awful imager, great guide camera), Celestron Neximage...you can see my gear list in my profile.

I have bought most-everything used, at a tremendous savings, by all means, if you are comfortable doing it, buy used and save a ton.

I modded my Canon 1000D (Rebel Xs) according to Gary Honis's fine guides (google it), the red that Canon filters is pretty amazing!
