Been interested in astronomy from my teens living in the light polluted south of England. Things really got going when I moved to NE Scotland in the 1990s. The skies were so dark, everything just sparkled, the difference was overwhelming. Light pollution has encroached here too as the years have gone by but it's still dark enough to enjoy the night sky both visually and with imaging.

The weather here is very unpredictable so I had a roll off roof observatory built a few years ago. I can leave my equipment set up and can be up and running in just a few minutes. It's made all the difference to the hobby.
