Description

Sharpless-188, sometimes called the "Shrimp Nebula" due to its shape, is a planetary nebula in Cassiopeia.

I started imaging this object before the California wildfires but did not have the patience to wait until the haze was gone to finish it, so both the SII and OIII channels were shot through a thin layer of smoke.. Not happy with the noise, and even the bright stars look bloated from the smoke but I'll revisit this target when the skies are "clean" again.

This is a total of 32 hours of exposure from the backyard (Bortle 9).
