      Description

      NGC 488 is a classic Spiral Galaxy. Quite a dramatic color difference between yellow core and blue spiral arms. Blue regions characterize active, star-forming areas. Distance is estimated at 90 Million LY. It was discovered by William Herschel on 13 December 1784.
