Description

Orion from Mather Point, Grand Canyon National Park (South Rim). This was shot with the lens stopped down to f/2.5. Tracking was done internally with the camera's Astrotracer feature, with the camera mounted directly to a tripod. No darks, bias or flats were used.  Much more aggressive stretching is required but only on non-stellar components. (Dimmer stars are already verging on being overly noticeable.) I will reprocess accordingly.

If you are wondering why only 11.5 minutes total exposure at such a fabulous dark-sky site (Bortle 2), it is because the majority of my sub-exposures were unfortunately ruined by wind shaking the light travel tripod I was using. A hard lesson but live and learn.
