Description

Rushing to work this morning, I noticed the strong parhelion spots accompanying the sun (eg, sundogs). Lots of ice crystals in the lower atmosphere due to the wind. Just a hint of the full halo can be seen here. The name comes from the Greek word -> parēlion, meaning "beside the sun." Fun to catch these phantom suns - thanks for looking.
