Description

Red     180 x 36
Blue    180 x 24
Green  180 x 12

This image is one of those ones that really took me by surprise, these are short subs, with no lum or anything else.  I had actually setup for a different target, but the timing for it was not great, so I collected some data on it and then it disappeared behind the trees.

So what to do now as it is still beautiful outside?

So thought I might as well collect some short subs on the Leo triplet for colour and set the sequence on repeat to get as much as possible until the clouds roll in.  Then I went to bed, when I woke up in the morning the sequence had managed to run almost three times. It was set to collect 12 R&B and 6 Green.

Anyway I stacked the image set and used a balance of Lum from the three, to produce a artificial Lum channel. After pulling this out of APP, the detail was really good. Although I did have a bad gradient problem from the green channel in the sky background.

So my processing routine was pretty simple, Stack with Flats, darks and bias. Combine RGB, Boost the Lum channel.  Then pushed this through starnet v2 to separate the stars and the galaxies.

In Photopea, I just cropped, and ran the usual noise reduction filters.
Then I made a artificial gradient layer off the galaxy layer,  by masking out the galaxies and and setting it to soft light.

Next some some targeted curves layers, to boost the galaxies, to remove the green tinge in the sky etc. Then on the stars some dust and scratches, just light, like 2 pixel by 7.

Lastly boost the vibrance and the saturation and Viola.

Hope you enjoy this little, pearl as much as I do.
