C/2021 A2 (NEOWISE) @ 2021 February 11, 02:30 UT
Description:
Comet C/2021 A2 (NEOWISE) imaged on February 11, 2021, looking very different than in January. Now shows a coma about 3 minutes of angular size that contains a jet of dust toward almost orbital direction (what we would call an anti-tail) and which opens in a 140-degree fan oriented to anti-sunward direction. Its coma has a certain greenish tone, although in my image its color appears dominated by the white of dust. The comet is in the constellation Monoceros in the Milky Way and on a dark cloud of dust that hides the starry background, at same time the comet is framed between the reflection nebulae NGC 2245 (bottom), NGC 2247 (center left) and IC 446 (towards upper right).
