Description

From the moment I saw these nebulae on AB, I knew I had to give them a shot.
However, I would not have thought I would do so within my first year of AP.

I started imaging the target more as a proof of concept and to see if it even fits my FOV with the 0.75x Esprit 100. As you can see from the image, it barely does.
When I saw the stack of the first night and was able to make out the squid, I couldn't resist and devoted the following clear nights solely to this target. In the end I ended up just above 20 hours of OSC data shot through the L-eXtreme. I think I won't shoot longer than this anymore using duo-band filters. More integration time will done with my new mono setup from now on keeping the OSC-duo-band rig between 10 and 20 hours.

Many shots of these nebuale put extreme emphasis on the squid which does not represent the actual brightness relation to the bat. I tried to keep this 'natural' balance between the two nebulae when pushing the squid. I think it came out as intended.

In the last session/night, I shot an hour worth of broadband data for the stars using the L-Pro.
