Description

The Sombrero Galaxy lies in between the constellation of Virgo (famous for the number of galaxies hosted) and Corvus.

It's a spiral galaxy about half of the diameter of the Milky way and distant about 30 million light years away from us.

A remarkable feature is the line of dust that stretch across the large central bulge. At the center of this galaxy was demonstrated the presence of a supermassive blackhole.

M104 is believed to be the brightest galaxy within a radius of 32.6 Million light years around the Milky Way.
