Description

Hi astro-friends,

here is an image I did back in February and took me ages to process until I get a version I could make public without considering leaving my country and changing my name... 😂

Joke aside, this is a very (very) short attempt at the beautiful IC2177, aka the Seagull Nebula in constellation Monoceros, lying at about 3’800 ly from our home. The nebula extends its « wings » over 100 ly. First time imaging this bird in the sky, unfortunately low above my light-polluted horizon from my balcony and a 70% illuminated Moon near the target! Definitely not the best conditions to shot 😂 Also need to reconsider the framing to get more extensions below the seagull's body.

Need to visit it again next winter under dark site and collect much more lights to get a descent rendition of this graceful nebula and its nested clusters & LDNs.

Thanks for feeding my plucked seagull with comments, criticisms or thumb up if you feel pity for her 😉

Clear skies and stay well!

Christophe
