Description

Lunar eclipse composite (from my image archive).

Blue rim of the Earth's shadow is visible, making a pleasant contrast with the orange-red eclipsed Moon. For the totality shots, I also left few nearby background stars visible, thought their brightness was artificially enhanced.

Images were taken during my vacations in Crete with Celestron C-11 telescope @ f/6.3 and Canon 6D camera, at approx. 18:50, 19:50, 21:00 and 21:50 UT (right-to-left), on 27 July 2018.

Exposure settings: ISO 400, 1 s for the totality phases; 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250 and 1/500 s series for the partial eclipse phases.

Processing: Camera RAW in Adobe Photoshop, HDR composite for the partial phases. Resize 25%.

Image B: w/o annotations.
