Description

NGC 147 and NGC 185  in the constellation of Cassiopeia form a gravitationally bound pair of dwarf galaxies orbiting the Andromeda galaxy M31. Like its sister, the impressively unimpressive NGC 147, NGC185 is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy, however a more interesting one: it likely has an active galactic nucleus thus making it the closest Seyfert galaxy - and the only known one in the Local Group. NGC 185 also features some relatively recent star formation and contains some young star clusters.
