Description

This is my first-ever photograph of the Andromeda Galaxy. I waited with some intention to image until last night, because on this very night 97 years ago, Edwin Hubble photographed the Andromeda galaxy, resulting in a now-famous image that led to the discovery of the Cepheid variable V1, that forever changed the way we look at our own galaxy and the universe. In short, V1 established that there were other galaxies besides the Milky Way, thus expanding the size of our universe. Thank you Edwin Hubble!

My own image is only fair. Seeing was quite poor and I processed it quickly to get it up for the anniversary of the discovery. One day, with better conditions and experience I'll try again, but for today I am completely happy.

Clear Skies!
