Description

A very fascinating galaxy in the constellation Leo. It is a part of the M96 Group, also includes the bright galaxies M105 and M95. It is roughly the same size as the Milky Way. The core is displaced from the centre, its gas and dust are distributed asymmetrically and its spiral arms are ill-defined. There is a small galaxy apparently embedded in the right, and it is just visually aligned and not part of the complex.

Imaged in LRGB on the PlaneWave CDK 1000 and CDK 700 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
Image Data: Mike at throughlightandtime.com. Many thanks to Mike for the preprocessing and the data, and feedback to improve my image.

I processed this using Pixinsight, MaximDL for Lum deconvolution and Photoshop for color adjustment and details and depth.
