Description

I’ve been very lucky last September as I had 4 clear nights to spend under the stars. This image is the last one I took last Saturday 28th from my backyard.

I decided to turn my gear to the constellation Cepheus, somewhere half the way between the stars Caph (Cas) and Errai (Cep). This area is home of large nebulas ionized by stellar winds - NGC 7822 at left and Cederblad 214 at right with a wide open cluster at its center, Berkley 59. This complex shows several nice features such dark lanes like LDN 1271 & 1275 lying just above the cluster. Outside the nebula are two open clusters, NGC 7762 about 2'500 l.y. away from Earth, and a second one that I didn’t find the reference as seen on the top-left of the image.

I had again to deal with strong noise but could reach an acceptable background after playing with layers in PS.

Thanks for looking and feel free to comment, critic or suggest any improvement ;-)

Clear skies to you all.

Edit : Found the name of that small OC : King 11 ;-)
