Description

Hi, I’m back from a looong break due to work, weather and private life! When I got my cooled camera, I originally planned to redo every galaxy I did so far, and because I missed this galaxy season, I jumped straight to my favorite summer galaxy. NGC6946, also known as the Fireworks Galaxy, is surely an interesting one - more supernovae have been seen there than in any other galaxy. Also it’s heavily covered by dust and stars of our own galaxy. It was once considered part of our local group, but currently is unclassified. Regarding the photons I collected - half of it is actually from 2021, and the other half from last weekend. I kinda wish I had imaged for another hour, to purely collect H-Alpha, because I think it misses red, but maybe I’ll do that in the next few days. Feedback & tips for improvement in terms of processing are always welcome - full resolution can be found on my astrobin (link in Bio). 🤍

181x120 seconds at Gain 111, -15 Degrees and 80x180 seconds at Gain 111, -15 Degrees (shouldn’t have done this - 180 seconds are too long for broadband and the IMX183 sensor lol, burned out stars I got…)

Description: Reduced Starsize, because the IMX183 sensor coupled with average european seeing, 180 seconds exposure and small apartures on a doublet sure likes to bloat them up :)
