Description

NGC1559 appears to be in the neighborhood of LMC but that's only a trick of our perspective. It's in a location all by itself with no nearby galaxies or galaxy cluster membership.  It recedes away from us at snail pace 1300 km/s, four supernovae observed not too long ago. An extra  bright star in the south west corner of the frame produced a strong gradient, which was managed by some cropping and Gimp vignette filter being applied asymmetrically along both X and Y axis to the final image.
