Description

NGC 5139 - Omega Centauri, Globular Cluster in Centaurus. NGC 5139, is the brightest globular cluster in the sky, and the largest and most luminous globular orbiting the Milky Way. It is so massive that it is thought to be the nucleus of a dwarf galaxy that merged with the Milky Way long ago. Taken with my new Unistellar eVscope 2 at the OKCAC’s Cheddar Ranch Observatory the night of 30 April - 1 May 2022. This was the third night out with my eVScope 2. EV mode, auto settings, no post processing. I’m estimating Bortle 5 skies. Weather was clear, light to no wind, temperatures started at about 72F and dropped to about 65F by 0230.
