Description

Sh2-240 is a supernova remnant in the constellation Taurus. It is extremely dim yet spans six times the width of the full moon (3 deg vs 0.5 deg in the sky). This image is a close-up detail within the "spaghetti" that I found to be interesting. I photographed the nebula in Ha and OIII and enhanced the stars using RGB data for the stars. I used the following formula for blending the narrow band data:

* R: Ha
* G: 0.15 * Ha + 0.85 * OIII
* B: OIII
